概要: Regularly check the tension of the saw chain. When inspecting or adjusting, always shut off the engine and wear protective gloves. The chain is properly tensioned when it can be pulled easily by hand while hanging from the bottom of the guide bar.

1. Regularly check the chain tension. When inspecting or adjusting, shut off the engine and wear protective gloves. The chain is properly tensioned when it can be pulled easily by hand while hanging from the lower guide bar.

2. A small amount of oil must always be splashing off the chain. Always check the chain lubrication and oil reservoir level before each use. Never operate the saw with a dry chain, as this will damage the cutting mechanism.

3. Never use old oil. Old oil fails to meet lubrication requirements and is unsuitable for chain lubrication.

4. If the oil level in the reservoir does not decrease, a lubrication delivery failure may exist. Inspect the chain lubrication system and check the oil lines. Contaminated filters can also cause poor oil supply. Clean or replace the lubrication filters in the oil tank and pump connection lines.

5. After installing a new chain, allow 2 to 3 minutes for break-in. After break-in, check the chain tension and readjust if necessary. New chains require more frequent tensioning than chains that have been in use for some time. When cold, the chain must lie flush against the lower guide bar but should be movable by hand along the upper guide bar. Tighten the chain if necessary. At operating temperature, the chain expands and sags slightly. The drive link at the bottom of the guide bar must not disengage from the chain groove, otherwise the chain will jump out of the groove and require re-tensioning.

6. Always loosen the chain after operation. The chain contracts during cooling. Failure to loosen it may damage the crankshaft and bearings. If the chain is tightened while hot, it will contract upon cooling. Excessive tension can damage the crankshaft and bearings.
